The Founder

Born into a government family on the outskirts of Washington D.C., Adis Ojeda has deep roots in Virginia. He grew up an avid sportsman, tinkerer, and community activist. Initially distracted by Spiderman comic books, he became thrilled by the challenge of bridging the gap between fiction and reality during 5 years of volunteering at the USA Science and Engineering Festival. An encounter with an MIT booth at the festival sparked his passion for technology's potential.

This lead to his involvement in summer research programs and ultimately the decision to attend MIT. He earned a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, immersing himself in complex systems and software engineering. His early career included founding a social media startup that leveraged innovative software to deepen personal connections and developing sophisticated, data-driven trading models for his own portfolio.

This pivot eventually led to his role as a Software Architect and Tech Lead at Liberty Mutual Investments, where he led innovation and enforced technology standards used to manage a $200 billion investment portfolio. With a lean team of just 200 people, the role commanded high coding reliability and efficiency standards, requiring continuous learning and iterative mastery of the broader software ecosystem. This experience revealed countless opportunities for strategic technological improvements, even within a major corporation.

With over a decade of experience in computer science, Adis has developed a holistic understanding of what drives elegant technology design. His upbringing in the nation's capital has fueled his commitment to helping local ventures succeed. As the founder of Theseus Group, Adis combines his technical expertise with a deep appreciation for the regional landscape, driving innovation and strategic growth for businesses in Virginia and the surrounding D.C. metropolitan area.

The name "Theseus Group" was inspired by the ancient Greek myth of Theseus' ship, a thought experiment that explores the nature of identity and transformation. The myth raises the question: if every part of a ship is replaced over time, does it remain the same ship, or does it become something entirely new?
